Are you finding it difficult to be home? (April 2020)

All of us have experienced physical pain at some point, but not all of us have previously experienced the challenges, we all face now, of being home for long periods due to the pandemic.

FAQs- Mindfulness

  • What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is a state of being present, in the current moment, without judgement.
  • Is mindfulness hypnosis? No, Mindfulness is not hypnosis (although it is a mind-body modality).
  • Is Mindfulness a religion? Mindfulness is not a religion. Practicing mindfulness does not mean you have to give up your  religious faith, adopt a different faith, or becoming religious.
  • Can I learn Mindfulness once and then be done with learning it? Well, you might have periods where you are mindful in life, but a  regular, formal practice will bring more long-term benefits.
  • What are the benefits of practicing Mindfulness? Scientific research suggests that a regular, formal practice can help induce a calm mind and improved sense of well-being.
  • How does Mindfulness help with pain? The practice of mindfulness facilitates something known as “detached observation”, which helps reduce the experience of suffering.  (Don't miss the conversation about Mindfulness for Pain Relief.)
  • My mind it very busy; I don’t think I can do this! That you notice your mind is busy shows you are already starting to be mindful!
  • How do I obtain the free, guided meditation? Unfortunately, the offer for the free meditation expired 29 April 2020.
